Within the “Support of Media Initiatives in Central Asia” five-year project the Representative Office of Internews Network in the Kyrgyz Republic supported production of high-quality, socially oriented television programs and carried out their distribution via NAU TV satellite channel in five countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan (distribution of programs in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was suspended in 2013). This project was carried out by support of USAID from October, 2009 to September, 2014.
Support of production and broadcasting of programs for the NAU TV satellite channel and its network from 45 independent regional stations (including 13 stations in Kyrgyzstan) was one of the components of the project. The M@trix program, the first youth project in Central Asia about Internet and all about global web and “Open Asia”, the weekly television program about people, events and the phenomena in Central Asia, became leaders of the satellite channel.
Representative Office of Internews Network in the Kyrgyz Republic sincerely thanks all partners and grantees of this component and informs that this component of the project comes to the end on September 30, 2014. Continuation isn’t provided.
