Within the “Support of Media Initiatives in Central Asia” five-year project the Representative Office of Internews Network in the Kyrgyz Republic supported production of high-quality, socially oriented television programs and carried out their distribution via NAU TV satellite channel in five countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan (distribution of programs in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was suspended in 2013). This project was carried out with support of USAID from October, 2009 to September, 2014.
One of the project components supported production of TV programs for the purpose of assisting local TV stations and creative groups in production of the qualitative product focused on presenting the real, legal, economic and social problems which locals face in their everyday life, but are rarely shown on television.
